The world record of Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva on the sum of points earned for two programs - short and arbitrary - will be considered official at the World Team Championship in Japan. said the press service of the International Skating Union (ISU)
Medvedev at the World Team Championship in Tokyo, which ended on Saturday, improved its world records on scores scored both in short (80.85) and in random programs (160.46). However, the overall score of the skaters is absent in the final protocol of the competition, since it does not go into offset of the team setting - only places in individual programs, short and arbitrary, are taken into account. Also at the competitions, unlike other starts of the season, no draw was conducted.
"Despite this, Evgenia Medvedeva's record for the sum of points scored for the two programs will be counted as official," the ISU reported. Thus, Medvedev's new world record for the sum of marks for two programs in females single skating is 241.31 points. The previous achievement (233.41) belonged to her and was installed at the World Championships in 2017 in Helsinki.
